Big Girl!

Last Thursday night, Felicity spent her first night in her big girl bed. Over the Thanksgiving weekend Randy finished painting her room and then over the course of the next couple of nights, we put her furniture together, we hung shelves and other things on the wall. Once the room was all done, we moved her in. She says "I loooove it" when you ask her what she thinks of it. She likes going in there to play now and really likes putting her babies to sleep in her big girl bed. As far as her staying in the bed . . . well she is still learning. The first couple of nights she only got out once. Since then that number has increased. Last night she thought she would be funny and she would get up, walk down the hallway on her tip toes and when we went to get her she would turn around and run down the hallway! If it wasn't bed time than that game would have been fun and she would have been very cute, but when it was 45 minutes to hour past her bed time . . . well, not so funny. But she does look absolutely adorable sleeping her big girl bed!!!!

Preggo Pics

I have had some recent requests to post my lastest pregnancy pictures. So, I decided to post them all. Randy and I take a new picture of my expanding belly every 5 weeks, something that we started with Felicity. So, the first picture is at 5 weeks, the 2nd is at 10 weeks, the 3rd is at 15 weeks and the last one is at 20 weeks. As of today, I am 23 weeks along, so the last one is a little old. Enjoy!! :)

Catching Up . . . Big Time!!!

Well, it certainly has been awhile. Sorry to all those people who happen to keep checking our blog for updates. But guess what, here's the latest!!!

Felicity is starting to get pretty excited for the arrival of her "baby ister," at least for now she is since I am pretty sure she has no idea what the implications of having a baby around are. No we don't know for sure that we are having a girl. In fact, we don't plan to find out what we are having until it is born. Felicity just calls it her baby sister. We have been trying to get her to say that it would be okay if she has a baby brother and she is finally starting to come around on that issue.

She is probably about 90% potty trained right now. She still insists on a diaper to do #2 and we still have the occasional accidents. But most of the time she tells us when she has to go. She is doing great and I am relieved that there is light at the end of the tunnel and come March I will only have 1 set of diapers to change!!!!

In early October Felicity and I went to Pittsburgh with Randy's sister Mary and her daughter Rachel. Mary had a conference for her professional society and invited us along with her. We were there for about 5 days and played tourist. We had a great time and Pittsburgh was a very nice city. It was not what I expected at all. We stayed downtown and it had a great old town/modern feel to it. We saw a lot of things and went a lot of places, but I know that if we would have more time we could have seen A LOT more!!!

About 2 weeks ago, my friend Beth, her husband Ted and their daughter Kendall came down from Flagstaff for the weekend. The six of us went to Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes. Both Kendall and Felicity are totally into Cinderella so they had a great time there. Felicity just sat there and watched everybody skating around. The show was obviously not for adults, but it was so much fun watching the girls get so excited about everything. When Beth and Ted came down they brought down Felicity's birthday present. They gave her a bouncy horse that she just loves. She even named it Penny after the horse that is in a book of hers. It is very cute that she came up with all by herself.

Last weekend we went down to Wilcox with our friends, Angie, Joe, Luke, Lisa and Mikey. We got to ride a hayride down to the pumpkin patch and then pick out which pumpkin we wanted. After some fresh produce shopping and some cute picture opportunities we headed down the road to the apple orchard. We had some lunch there and then headed back to Tucson. It was a long day for the kids and two pregnant mommies, but is certainly was worth it. The kids had a great time and we got a great pumpkin for Halloween carving.

Last night of course was Halloween. Since Felicity has recently developed an obsession with Cinderella, she dressed up as Cinderella (or CeCerella as she calls her). A new shopping/office/restaurant center just down the street from us was doing trick-or-treating there. I take a yoga class at that center so we went down there first and then came back to our neighborhood and went to a few houses. She was the "silent trick-or-treater." She didn't really say "trick-or-treat" (even though she has been practicing for a week!) and finally by the end of the night we got her to say "thank you." But most of the time she just kind of stood there looking pretty! :) She said she had a good time and today has been asking to go trick-or-treating again.

Happy 2nd Birthday Felicity!

On the 17th, Felicity turned 2! We just can't believe that 2 years have gone by already. Felicity has grown up so fast! She is talking so much and learning new things every day. She is really turning in a little girl, she loves to wear my shoes, my jewelry, and now she LOVES Cinderella or CeCerella as she calls her.
On Saturday the 15th, we had her birthday party for her. Her friends and some family were there and she had a great time. We did the present thing and cake (happy cake according to Felicity) and ice cream, but mostly her and her friends and cousins just played. It was raining pretty hard when the first guests arrived, but that was actually a good thing. It cooled things down a lot outside so they were able to run of their energy!

On Monday I made some happy cup cakes for her. After dinner we sang to her again and had a cup cake and ice cream. She got to take a bath in Mommy and Daddy's big bathtub. Now she sings Happy Birthday to herself a lot!

Announcing another Post on the way!

Becky and I are very excited to announce the anticipated arrival of another Post baby, due on March 7, 2008! That puts Becky right about 13 weeks. We just had our first ultrasound today (at left) and everything seems to be going well. We have another OB appointment in two weeks or so. Given our past history, it was such an immense relief to see and hear a little heartbeat and to see the little baby swimming laps in there...of course as soon as the doctor was trying to get measurements the little peanut went to sleep! His/her sister was just as uncooperative in the ultrasounds!

Felicity is very excited about the prospect of a little brother or sister. When we ask her if she wants a baby brother or baby sister, she almost always says little sister! She's got a number of little boy friends, but only her cousin Elisia that's close to her age on the female side so we wouldn't mind another girl. Of course we wouldn't mind a little boy either! Although we doubt she really understands how her world will change when the baby gets here, she says things like "share kib (crib)", "share numni (her word for binky)", and the other day she was holding a piece of a baby toy and without prompting, told Becky "share toy baby come". She's the cutest!

Becky has been feeling relatively well. Her biggest complaint is that she's extra tired. She usually goes to bed pretty early, which lets me get some extra work done in the evenings! And if she lets her blood sugar get too low or eats something too greasy or smells something offensive she gets a little sick, but I don't know that she's actually thrown up yet. The offensive smells thing makes it a little interesting to change Felicity's poopy diapers! Of course I change them when I'm around, but when I'm not around she doesn't have any choice, and she's told me she usually puts her shirt over her nose! I think she's looking great, starting to glow and show a little. Here's a picture from a week or two ago. She's already on to the baby's scrapbook too! She's getting pretty good at scrapbooking. Thanks for indoctrinating her into the cult Margaret!

We have an interesting fall and early winter coming up. My company, NCS, has an ADOT project in Oak Creek Canyon between Sedona and Flagstaff that's starting construction in September. It's an incredibly technical and challenging rockfall containment project, and my company will have someone on site full time starting right after Felicity's birthday (which is the 17th of September). I am taking the first few months of the shift, so I'll be up there until Christmas. After that it will be my colleague taking my place. Becky will probably spend a good portion of the time up there with me (and Felicity and the dogs), but not all the time.

Felicity's First Blog Post

My name is Felicity and I'm almost 2 fingers old. This is my first glob post. Mommy says something about Aunt Beth making us look bad, I don't know what that means. But Daddy said now that I have my own computer I can start writing my own globs.

Daddy made me a pretty desk that's just the right size for me. He bought it for like $25 from some guy named Craig who has a list. Then he cut it down to Felicity size and put a door in front of the part that holds the 'puter (I liked crawling in there before he put the computer in). The door even locks to keep me from playing with the computer when Daddy doesn't want me to. He also put a new tray on for the keyboard and then he painted it Red, Yellow and Blue.

I like playing Winnie the Pooh toddler and Mickey Mouse toddler games on there. I can pop balloons that Winnie, Tigger and his friends are floating on. All I have to do press the keys (Daddy says I pound on them). I know that I use the laser mouse to make the arrow move, but I can't quite do it by myself yet. But I know I will be able to do it soon though! I also like to watch moovies on my computer, like Cinderella.

It's past my bedtime now but I'll write again another time.

I can't believe it.

Wow, I can't believe we haven't posted since October. I guess having a very busy toddler around has prevented me from doing it. :) What's Randy's excuse?!

Anyway, there is so much to catch up on, but here's the cliff notes. Felicity will be 2 in September and we can hardly believe she is 2 already!!! It has become very obvious that she has hit the "terrible twos." She is starting to throw lots of fits when she doesn't get her own way! She really like doing things all by herself and will let you know when she DOES NOT need any help.

She has also become very much a little girl! When you ask her what she wants to wear in the mornings, she says "dress." And she loves her shoes!!!! She has even been known to get several pairs of my shoes (usually the high heeled ones), put them on and walk around the house in them. Even if they don't match. She also LOVES her babies. She won't go to sleep without one (or more) in her crib and she always asks for one when she is swinging in her swing outside. She likes to talk on the phone (or "hi" as she calls it) all the time. I thought that was a teenage thing? Who knew it started so early! :)

She has even started to play pretend. She will pretend that her babies are crying and she will go over to them pick them up and rub their backs. The other day she put her Elmo down for a nap by covering him with a blanket. When I asked her if he needed a new diaper she said no at first. Then a few minutes later she came out of her room with one and tried to put it on him! Randy made a house for her out of a big cardboard box and she loves playing in it. It is so cute!
But she does have some knowledge of the boy world. She loves watching for "choo-choo" when we go out driving as well as pointing out every truck that we pass. At the moment she also really likes pointing out airplanes when they are flying in the sky. Every time she hears one she looks up and starts searching for it. And you can always tell the exact second that she spots it. Her face lights up and she smiles from ear to ear. Maybe she will be a pilot one day and can fly her mom and dad all over the world.

Felicity is getting so big now. Her skills as a talker are really increasing daily. She is always trying to pronounce new words, even if they come out wrong. And now she is really starting to grasp the concept of sentences and trying to express her trains of thought. They other day we were getting out of the pool and she said "home, Kona, Hoover, eat" all at once. I guess she was ready to go home get Hoover and Kona and eat some lunch.

Well, that's pretty much the low down for now. I am going to try to be better about updating it, but we all know that I am apparently all talk!! :)
